Spring Break 2010 Part 1

We headed out for Aiken, SC which would be the first stop on our spring break trip. The weather cooled down at night and then by day it felt great to have the sunshine on your back. My sister has moved her horse onto Mother and Daddy's property so that was a big attraction while we were there. I tried riding the horse but it was more scary than fun because it felt like it would be a long way down if I were to fall. I didn't look as thin as I would have liked either. ha (not sure when that will ever happen) They have created a mini silver dollar city for themselves.

I'll be showing you more pictures of our time there and the rest of our vacation so be sure to check back soon.

Very happy, very proud....

My in-laws pastor a Bible Methodist church in Easley, S.C. The church people just completed and dedicated the new church building this past Sunday. The picture below is of the pastor's study. When Cameron saw these pictures he said "it looks like the oval office". Dad, we are very happy for your new "work" place.

The new love in my life...

Okay, for any of you out there still practicing the art of ironing your going to feel my affection for the new love in my life.
I have let go of alot of wrinkles this past year but some things just have to be ironed!!! They look better that way. This new sleek, smooth, just right heavy machine is making me very happy.

Now while this new love of my life didn't cost a fortune, the other love of my life is priceless. I like to say he completes me. This is not what modern woman are supposed to think but I'm old fashioned in this way and my man is the better half of who I am. He is the love of my youth and as we grow older I wouldn't change a thing about him. most of the time I love you, David.

The winter without end...

The other day coming home from work the sun was shining through the trees and made them all look like white lace.
Then again yesterday, on our way to church, the sun was out again and it looked like Jack Frost had been a busy boy. It was absolutely beautiful. These same trees that are full of color in the Fall were now all coated in winter white. I was in awe of my Creators handiwork.
All that beauty has a very ugly side though and it can be found at Walmart :-)
And along side our driveway
Winter will end sometime, it just has too. Until then we will have some beautiful moments and some very chilly, ugly ones. That's life here in Indy. It's where my home is. It's where my heart belongs.

Ashely turns 6

She only had to wait 365 days for her 6th birthday and I do believe we have been counting down the days since her 5th birthday.
She wanted a princess birthday
The princess birthday cake that yours truely decorated
The girls ready to party in the princess dining room.
I think we made some good memories for her. When I asked her what her favorite thing about the evening was she grinned and said "the presents".

Winter fun...

Some things haven't changed. As soon as it snows Ashley is out there eating it.
Cameron building his first igloo.
His pants were frozen solid.
They are going to finish up the igloo tomorrow and are hoping that it won't melt overnight. I don't think that will be a problem.
Meanwhile I'm in the house straightening up from the Christmas take down. I like the simpleness of life after having the house stuffed with all of our fun Christmas sit abouts. How about you?
