These were the flowers and balloons that were delivered to Cameron and Sarah Brooke from our church. The mylar balloons have been great fun for them. Today our dear friends the Englands and Kennedys brought by care packages. They are getting right spoiled. Thank you so much!

Recovery Day 2...
This has been a hard day for the kids. The doctor knew what he was talking about when he warned us that day 2 or 3 might be really hard. They have hurt quite a bit and Cameron can't keep much on his stomach. My parents and brother left this morning. My heart is so thankful for them having been here. It has been a movie marathon around here today. I offered to play a game with the kids and they didn't even feel like it so that says alot about their condition. Ashley is loving all the treats and is on a sugar high. Cottage cheese, jello and ice cream have been what sounds good to them. We are on spring break all next week. I'm looking forward to being without a schedule.

Thank you for your prayers!!!
Cameron was eating ice cream by this time

It has been a long day but we are home now. The doctor said that Sarah Brooke's tonsils were enlarged and her adenoids were almost obstructing her nasal passage. Cameron's adenoids were enlarged too but his tonsils weren't as big as hers. Cottage cheese and ice cream seems to be the food of choice. We are very glad the procedure is over and now all we have to do is heal. Thank you for your kind comments and prayers. We appreciate it very much.

We are headed to the ....

Cameron and Sarah Brooke are scheduled for a tonsillectomy tomorrow. They have developed a cold with occasional cough and I'm going crazy trying to determine if it is a productive cough or not. If it is then the surgery will have to be re-scheduled. This seems like the best time since it will be spring break next week and my parents are able to come help us through this process but ultimately it is up to God and his timing. My job is to find contentment no matter what the outcome. I'm working on it :-) Please help us pray. I'll end with this cartoon I ran across. It's not a bad idea. ha

The basket reveal...
I put my hair barrettes, bobby pins and pony tails in this perfect little round basket. It has been in the corner of my bathroom vanity for all these years. You all had some pretty good ideas. My own husband didn't know what I put in there. Too funny! Mom Going got it right. Yea! Thanks for playing again.

Oops I missed a whole day in our Easter weekend update
David had the whole day off Saturday which was really nice. I fixed mini blueberry muffins and cereal for breakfast. Then got everybody ready for a morning of shopping. We still needed to get Sarah Brooke some shoes. Between 2 different Targets not having what I needed and the traffic it was rather stressful. Note to self--never wait until the last day before the event the item is needed. Somehow we got to cantata practice early. After practice we were invited over to the Kennedy's house. Talk about a treat. They ordered pizza (they know that me and the kids would eat pizza everyday if we could) and she served rasberry sherbet with individual chocolate bunnies. Delicious!! I curled the girls hair while we were there and it's a good thing because they were really sleepy when we got home. There now that was our missing day out of our weekend :-)
Guess the basket time again!!
This basket was given to us as a wedding gift. I believe it is my first longaberger basket. This one is round and about 6 in. in diameter. I have used it for the same thing for almost 12 yrs. What could it be? :-) Those that have spent the night with us should be able to guess this one but I'm curious if anybody else has noticed it before or what you would put in it.

Our Easter weekend...
We colored eggs after dinner Friday night. My Daddy has traditionally been here to help with the caotic process but Easter was early this year. They are coming this weekend to help us through the ordeal of Cameron and Sarah Brooke having their tonsils removed.
The girls called it Happy Easter Day! Ashley woke up, smiled and said I'm glad it's Easter. Then she couldn't figure out why we had to go to church again since we had gone the day before (cantata practice). She was a mess Sunday morning. I'll just say there had to be several people thanking God that she wasn't theirs. We will keep her but God knows how to keep you humble. During the cantata (yes during) she walked up and handed me the picture she had colored and kinda hung out up there. Finally Jordan's Mommy sent him up there with the bribe of getting to hold one of his babies. It worked!! We have proof (in the web album) of David telling her what was expected of her behavior. I took the picture because I wanted the back of her hair. Oh me! The cantata was a real joy to prepare and sing. It helped me feel like I had really celebrated what my Saviour has done for me. Michelle, our Pastor's wife, was very helpful, complimentary and professional. You could tell she was a natural once her arms lifted in time with the music. We are blessed to have her and Pastor Mike.
We had dinner at Philip and Rachels house along with another family from their church. Delicious, fun and special. The teenagers hid the eggs for the Daddys while they set at the table and kept the conversation going. We stayed all afternoon.

Here's the second round of "Guess what the basket is used for!"
Okay people...
I wasn't going to post this picture, just send it to my family, then I thought why not. You guys wouldn't notice the plate and cup from supper or the overdue Arthur DVD, over turned napkin holder, scissors and whatever else is in the background would you? :-) Well here is the story. I got on http://www.moneysavingmom.com/ yesterday evening and couldn't resist making another trip back to CVS. With my newly earned ECB's, my freshly clipped and printed coupons I came away spending .60 cents and earned close to 15 ECBs for next time. Okay I think I can breathe now because it really is true not just a dream.

Here's how we celebrated St. Patrick's Day
It wasn't a big fan fare but just a fun supper for the kids (David had to work). Lemon lime kool-aid, a pot of stew (not sure that is actually Irish but it had green vegetables in it), wedge of Irish soda bread and for dessert...

My take away from CVS...
I still feel very new at this whole bargain hunting venture but it is so much fun. Todays loot cost me $8.70 and that is for 11 items. Without my coupons and sales it should have cost me $38.91. I also earned my most ECBs ever $21. Have I inspired you enough to go do it yourself yet? :-)

Let's play guess the basket
You all have probably figured out by now that I love baskets. I get this affection for them from my Mother. I feel strongly that they should not just be a piece of art but that they should be functional as well. This is where the game comes into play...you tell me how you think I use this particular basket then later on I will post a picture of the correct answer.

Lemonade anybody?
I was done having tea all by myself so I made up some lemonade to share. Points of interest (for those that enjoy details and history)--The quilt belonged to my Great Grandma, the white table cloth was given to me by a friend (she bought it in Germany), the basket tray was made by my Mother, the flower picture was given to me by my sister-in-law. All these treasures cheer me while I'm waiting on Spring. Have a great day and if you are in the area stop by :)

Mmm Good..
There is more than one way of hidrating your system. She was one happy girl when they were allowed to go out and play/eat. At least 3 kids in Indiana were delighted that Winter wasn't over yet. We got about 5 in. from the possible foot they predicted.

Look at my CVS deal
I got all this for $10.66 out of pocket. I have $10 ECB's to use next time too. Now that's a cool deal!!
1. Tide
2. Deans Milk (1 gal.)
3. Pantene conditioner
4. 4 containers of Pringles
5. Febreeze candle
6. Febreeze plug in
7. Extended handle Swiffer
8. Swiffer refill (10 ct)
9. Mach3 mens disposible razors (3ct)
10. bag of gummy bears
My CVS has a kiosk where you can scan your card and receive coupons. We got the gummy bears free with one of those coupons. I figured that without all my coupons I would have spent $49.32 and if those items weren't already on sale it would have cost me $65.37. The fun thing is some of these things (considered luxury items) I would never have gotten otherwise.

Can you see me smiling?
I just got to spend the morning scrapbooking with a friend.

The creative groove has to work hard since it must compete with catch up chatter, parenting stories, tip swap and etc. We got several pages done though. We are working on a book for her parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. This book will be so special because she has received note cards from long ago friends, neighbors and church friends. All giving their congratulations and memories. She left the book with me this time to work on in my spare time so I'm off to get some pages done.
