Friday night...

We took the kids to a great park in Oaklandon, IN. That is about 20 min. from us.

April 25, 2008
They had a great time. Looking at the pictures though has left me with the feeling that these days are numbered. They grow up so fast.

Cameron came home from school ....

and was all excited to draw a picture of his tennis shoe. He had drawn one at school but didn't feel like he had time to put all the details on it that he wanted. This is what he came up with. Today after school we are going to the Hancock County Art Exhibit where the school drawing is on display. Cameron will be 9 in July. I regret not letting this be folded before I took a picture of it but hopefully you can see it well enough.

Gotcha this time...

The answer was there all the time!! Now as you can see this basket can't hold that much but I've never been much of a bulk buyer so it suits my needs.

Remember the tea basket? The spice packet basket keeps it company on my kitchen wall.

Be thinking what could be in that 3rd basket :-)

Ready for another Guess the basket?

This one hangs on the wall and is small compared to the ones I have shown you before

Could it hold tooth brushes? Maybe straws or spice packets? I know, I know writing utensils?? Hmm what do you think this basket is used for?

IHC 2008

Our family was blessed to be with extended family last week, to be under the teaching of some of the best ministers, great music and to be among so many friends. One day we ate lunch with 26 family members. We served 13 of them chicken salad sandwiches, cubed cheese, chips, pop and cookies in our hotel room the night before (a spontaneous invite). I'll have to plan for it next year. ha People were sitting everywhere :-) Every day was jam packed and very long. We ate plenty but it was at odd times. Wednesday night David brought us cheese burgers at midnight just before our eyes closed. He left the hotel and ended up getting lost. His eyes have gotten so bad that it was a bit like Mr. Magoo trying to find his way back.
I want to recommend that you watch the wednesday night sermon by Bro. Stetler in the archives of www.ihconvention.com It was a long service so you will need to fast forward to his sermon but well worth your time to watch. I just watched/listened to it again this morning while I ironed. We have such an awesome heritage! He really explained who and what we are about as Holiness people. Let me know what you think.
I'm posting another basket tomorrow so be sure to come back and place your guess.

You will never convince me that there is no God...

Take a look at the sky, the green grass and the white blossoms. It isn't a tall mountain, or wide open sea but it is Spring and this tree is in my front yard. I'm taking in it's beauty just the same. It is also home to Momma Robin

Here she is. I wondered if we would see her again this year. Remember last year she chose the club house. I think this choice of home is much prettier.

Here are her "to be" babies. Just two this year.

All dressed up...

The flower bush the kids are standing in front of is our neighbors. It doesn't last long but it is so beautiful. It hasn't done as well the last 2-3 yrs and last summer I trimmed it up for our neighbor lady and I think it helped. I have pictures of the kids in front of it since they were just small and now look how grown up they are. My Mother-in -law made the girls dresses and brought them with her to IHC. They are beautiful. They gave Cameron his shirt to match the girls too. Thank you, Mom and Dad Going!!!

I survived the '08 earthquake..

This morning I was awakened by the bed shaking, the door squeaked and a general unsettling feeling. David immediately said " I think that was an earthquake". My mind was trying to figure it out and it didn't naturally go for that possibility. I grew up in Oklahoma where the great fear is tornadoes not earthquakes so I was thinking(very sleepy mind) we were having really strong winds or something. When we turned the radio on it was announced that indeed there had been an earthquake. 5.2 magnitude. Now that is an earthquake! We are actually about 170 miles from the epicenter so no damage to report, thankfully. Very strange, unforgettable experience

Calling all Mommies...

Two Weeks of Toys - Giveaway Event
I just read Michele's (Nates Mom) blog and thought I would check out the giveaway and give you all the opportunity too www.5MinutesforMom.com The toy I signed up to win is the very toy that my son has been saving his money for and wishing for his birthday. Wouldn't that be cool if I won it for him. You all would HEAR about that!!

Signs of Spring

See this mess in the back yard?

It belongs to not only this furry little creature but 5 more of them

David mowed the yard Saturday and discovered yet another new home for the baby rabbits. They leave rather deep ankle turning holes which take away from their cuteness. He said he saw the fur moving and then he counted as they popped their heads up and scurried off. Who would have thought that our fenced in yard would be a safe place for all the new Spring offspring but it is. Don't they realize that we have 3 kids of our own.

Here's another basket reveal...

His and her Bibles, devotional book, Bible study material, journal and writing utensil.

This is where I like them to be anyway :-) All tucked away nice and neat but also very handy. This is where they would be if you were to come over having been invited. ha Otherwise the black Bible (not mine) and devotional book would be sitting on the coffee table. There you go now I'm curious where you put your Bible and devotional materials.

Guess the basket time :-)

This one is probably one of the newer baskets I own. It was given to me by David for our anniversary. He picked out several things that I love and made up a gift basket for me. Okay everybody say at once "How romantic"!!! He's a keeper alright. Well the special things have found other places to stay so what in the world do you think I use this for now?

A look back over time...

February 27, 2007
I guess I'm feeling nostalgic this morning after looking at pictures on the computer. My babies are growing up. Life goes on. Memories are good! Have a good day.

Here it is....

This basket sits on top of my refrigerator and it holds lots of things for me :-)
Rememeber the scissor problem we had around here about 1 1/2 yrs. ago? Well they are kept up high now. I don't like sippy cups--they have straws, nook and crannies that are hard to clean. It is a real treat if the kids get to use one. Since they aren't easy to clean and they don't stack nice and neat on a shelf from day one they have been tossed into this basket. The last pocket holds all the medicine measuring devices and other odd shaped feeders.
Now I'm wondering where in the world do you all put yours if you don't have a handy dandy basket like this :-)

Oops the camara is missing...

I'll try to unearth it and get a pick so I can reveal the contents of the basket. One commenter got really close in fact right on for one of the pockets :-)

Pizza anyone?

The basket reveal is coming later today but first I wanted to show you what we had for supper Friday night. 25 Pizzas!!!!

Our church partnered up with a church in Shelbyville and had a family night/youth lock in. It started at the church with a service and then everyone headed over to the boys and girls club for pizza and basketball/volleyball. I forgot my camara and so this picture was taken with my phone. Our church website has more fun photos http://www.calvarybiblemethodistchurch.com/ check it out under activities. We ordered 25 pizzas and ate almost 23 of them. That is a little close for comfort. Everybody seemed to have a good time. We made good memeories. David's take on the night is over on his blog http://www.davmart.blogspot.com/ Enjoy!

Guess this handy dandy basket...

This basket is one of my larger ones and for you organizers out there you would love the 3 pocket feature. My Mother made this one. Each individual basket doesn't get used for lots of different things. I'll explain... When I'm given one or purchase one their usefulness is determined right away. Kinda like the bowl for mashed potatoes. Once it's determined the mashed potatoes look and fit in a certain bowl best then it is forever used for that purpose. Don't you have a mashed potato bowl? Well it is that way with my baskets. They just say to me what their usefulness is and it sticks with them. So what do you think this basket has been used for since 1999?

I've been tagged by Karla

Let's see...rules first.
The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
Each player answers the questions about themselves.
At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1.What I was doing 10 years ago? Working (cleaned houses), feeling my life calling/mission (being a Mommy), loving my new home.

2.Five things on my to-do-list today: Get dressed (been on Spring break and vegging out)

Purchase pop and bottled water for church lock-in

Finish thank you cards (made them yesterday but they

need filled out)

Laundry (is that ever not on the list?)

Decide what is for dinner

3. Snacks that I enjoy: Anything with sugar in it, on it or around it.

4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire: The sky is the limit--but I do think I would be

generous then travel at will (but I would miss our

church so not sure about that) I think one big

spending day, aah the dream could go on forever

5. Five of my bad habits: The snacks mentioned earlier

Procrastination (I seem to work better under pressure, like hrs before

company arrives)

Not calling to check on friends--real bad about that

Hmm..I think my spouse would be better at answering this question

for me.

6. Five places I have lived: Tulsa, Oklahoma (born and raised there until age 13 and where I met

David, truely the love of my life)

Overland Park, Kansas (our family moved there for work)

Greenfield, Indiana (the state where I reside ever since getting

married to the love of my life. We have lived in a

charming rental house, apartment and now the house

we had built.

7. Five jobs I have had: babysetting (started at age 9. whatever were those parents thinking)

Christian bookstore

House cleaning (really enjoyed that)

Now I have so many jobs I can't count them all but they all get done

eventually :) The pay is a non-issue, I have signed a contract for life. The benefit package is worth every minute of work.

There you go that is simple tag facts about me. If you want to play along then tag your it!!!

Farewell to Grass man...

Ever feel like this sometimes?

Grass man decided to go with a short crop like when he was young and I think he has over done the whole tanning thing. This will be the last of the story for Grass man. He sure has been a fun thing to watch. I love you Man!!!
Here's a look back at Grass man.
