Back from Beulah Grove Bible Methodist Camp

We left the comforts of home Wednesday afternoon with the van loaded to the max, kids wondering when are we going to get there, a husband not feeling well but we were headed to camp. We arrived at the evening service time and so we set up house all to the sound of the service. Our "new" room is a stones throw from the tabernacle, right next to the mens restroom. Come to think of it I would have to say it is smack dab in the middle of the camp ground. Now that is cool!!! I teased about carving my name above the door. I love camp and this year was no different. The weather was perfect. Our "new" room did not come with an air conditioner but we didn't need it this year. After a little furniture rearranging we created a cozy place to sleep and get dressed in. It is amazing how your own stuff can make a place home. David laughed when he first saw the room (typical fixer upper camp room) but it turned out to fit our needs. We love room #4! David was busy on the phone all day Thursday with a house that he is to close on this week. Then on Friday he lost his voice and never really felt good the whole time. He was very disappointed about it. Our first night was rough. We were tired but not utterly exhausted so we heard every sound. Our neighbor was the only well rested person in the building. He slept the entire night!! His snores became like the train through the back yard after that first night. We got used to it :-) Our trusty air mattress let us down that first night too. We had some good laughs at 3:30 in the morning. By Saturday night we were exhausted and so we slept pretty well. The other half of the room had 2 twin beds that we put together for room and the girls slept there.

The girls had so much fun with their cousins Anna, Jenna and Lindsay and life long friend Cassie England. Ashley said this is the best camp ever. They would play and check back in with me through out the day. We met up at meal times until Sunday supper and I couldn't find them anywhere. They had gone through the food line without help. Sarah Brooke said she got the tray and food for Ashley and had to cut her meat too. What a sweetie! Cameron and Corey played softball, created a habitat for the toads they were given and generally roamed the camp ground like big guys.
After a day of playing hard the kids slept through alot of the services. Bro. Pierpoint and Bro. Stetler were the speakers and the Sankeys the song evangelist. Excellent team! God's presence met with us so sweetly and we were challenged and encouraged in our faith. God is good!

But here is the contents of this cute little basket. A basket of blessings. My friend Diane went to her sisters church Mother's Day brunch and they passed these out. She thought of my collection and gave me hers. Now isn't that a blessing! I love this idea and I plan on adding personal blessings to the basket soon but until then it came with a little book of blessings to enjoy.

Guess the basket!!!

This one is my smallest basket and measures about 3 in. tall and 2 1/2 in. wide. It was given to me recently by a dear friend of mine. I love what is in it. I have it hung under my upper kitchen cabinets but the contents aren't cooking related it just looked good there. I can do that right? :-) Well the sky is the limit in guessing what is inside. Happy Father's Day!!!

Not many things make my Daddy happier than a complete waffle. Last week my Mother made waffles (probably not full ones because she hates the clean up) and fried eggs. Phil ate with them and assumed that the little black specs were from the eggs that had been fried in the bacon grease. After a closer inspection and having eaten most of the waffle my brother discovered that indeed they were eating ants that had invaded the syrup bottle.

Now my husband loves fried eggs but won't eat them unless he can have them on toast even if I have made delicious waffles. Breakfast is one of the harder meals to fix and I seldom fry eggs so I kept with tradition and "refused" :-) to fry them. (my excuse is I have been sick all week)whatever!!!

My Father-in-law on the other hand is very similar to my Grandpa Evans. I do believe they will eat anything on their plate and never complain. It can be cold and he may wish for something else but you would never know. Very easy to please!

Each one has a special place in my heart and I love them for different reasons. I need each one and appreciate them. I love you Dad, Daddy and David!!!

I now have a set of china...

My friend Kristen's Mother was getting rid of her "old" china dishes. Kristen thought of me and my kitchen and knew that it would go well. She called and asked if I would be interested. Are you kidding??? I love dishes of all shapes, sizes and colors and I love kitchen linens. Here is the beautiful China in MY kitchen. All 12 servings worth and it was free. She even included the placemats and cloth napkins. Thank you seems very small words for how I feel right now.

I now have china dishes. I wonder who we will host and use them with first. I have a good idea. Somebody (couple) that we owe big time :-) They know how to appreciate fine dining too.

Colors

Have you analyzed lately what your favorite color is? Sarah Brooke just finished kindergarten where colors are a big thing. She can tell you her classmates favorite colors. Now I cannot verify but it seems amazing to me. Just yesterday she was saying her cousin Tiffany's favorite colors and the shades in them that are her favorite. I asked her how she knows and she says I have it pictured in my head. Sarah Brooke loves dark purple. Ashley piped up and said her favorite colors are pink and blond. She's blond all right :-) I've always been drawn to blue, green being my next favorite. What's your favorite?

Grandma and Grandpa Going come for a visit...

David's parents stayed with us over the weekend. They came for our nephew, their grandson Jonathan's graduation. I loved having them here and so did our kids. I invited cousin Tiffany over to just hang with Grandma and Grandpa. The kids are listening to a great story teller

And here she is :-) She has taught kindergarten and raised 3 boys of her own so she knows how to keep little ones attention. I loved seeing my kids get to be with their Grandparents.

Grandma has been at the sewing machine again. Cameron benefits too. They brought him a red shirt to match. We loved having you Mom and Dad Going. Come again soon!!!
