A little summer reading...

I just finished reading this book to the kids. They loved it. Sarah Brooke said she never knew that a chapter book (without pictures) could be so interesting. Hardy Boy books were some of my favorites growing up then I progressed to Grace Livingston Hill books. Woo hoo! Now I'm a Karen Kingsbury fan. I also really enjoy biographies. Summer reading---it's a good thing!

Would this make you nervous?

Pretty soon I think Cameron is going to have to drive Mamaw around.
At least they all have helmets on :-) This was a ride in the neighborhood to a school play ground. They came back safe and sound and loved every minute of it.

While I was in Kansas....

I stayed at the home of a fellow basket collector and weaver. That would be my Mother and Daddy :-) I think I come by my collecting honestly don't you?

We gathered up and made a display of 40 of their baskets that they have collected or made themselves over the years. Later we found a few that weren't included.

Some of the baskets I remember being in our home as I grew up so it is a timeless collection. smile

Here is the weavers themselves. It looks like they may have been doing more motorcycle riding than weaving from their tan lines but winter will come again or a must have idea in order to make something organized.

I love baskets! And I love you Mother and Daddy!!!

Happy Birthday Cameron!!!

Cameron turned 9 while we were in Kansas and we celebrated with family and a giant cookie. That isn't the same as celebrating with your best friend soooo

Last Wednesday night we had friends over after church and we had a camouflage birthday party. We served ice cream with all kinds of toppings. I used a brownie as a base for my ice cream concoction. Shall we say Mmm!

When I went to put the candle in Cameron's ice cream it crumbled the waffle bowl. Ugh! It got him tickled.

He was given a new game for his gameboy called Dogs. He was instantly hooked and has had so much fun with it.

It is hard to believe that I have a 9 yr. old. His head is up under my chin and our hugs are starting to feel awkward to him I think. He is growing up and is a very good boy. He loves to please God and learn more about Him and for that we are thankful. We love you, Cameron, our firstborn!!!

What are the chances....

of me being stocked up on hamburger meat and there be a ground beef recall at Krogers?

Today I ran in and picked up some bread and a few other things and on my receipt was the ground beef recall notice. Between certain dates there was an ecoli threat so they were recalling ALL ground beef of all varieties. Fortunatly they replace your meat and so I have 20 lbs. of fresh ground chuck all ready to freeze again.

A little girls dream....

Is being built in Kansas




This is the little girl that dreamed of having a playhouse like this for herself and then for her daughter and was never able to make it happen until now. It is for her granddaughters. It is a dream for the builder too and I know it will be a dream come true for my girls. Isn't it adorable? I don't think it comes with a dog on the front porch but how fun is this picture. The dream builder has plans of moving this playhouse to Indiana. He built it with that as the plan. Can't wait. We get to go see it this weekend though! We're headed to Kansas. There is no place like Home! There is no place like Home! I'm about to click my ruby red heels

Baby Faith comes for a visit

A longtime friend of ours recently had a baby and was needing us to watch the baby while she went to the doctor. How fun is that! I have memories of when I was Sarah Brooke's age of standing next to the Mommies at church and hoping they would let me hold their babies. I loved babies! I loved my babies and that was all I needed until they started to not be babies anymore. Now beware if you have a baby :-) Me and my girls will be all over you! Most Sundays I get what I call my baby fix from the twins at church. They are precious.
