Our Easter weekend...

We colored eggs after dinner Friday night. My Daddy has traditionally been here to help with the caotic process but Easter was early this year. They are coming this weekend to help us through the ordeal of Cameron and Sarah Brooke having their tonsils removed.

The girls called it Happy Easter Day! Ashley woke up, smiled and said I'm glad it's Easter. Then she couldn't figure out why we had to go to church again since we had gone the day before (cantata practice). She was a mess Sunday morning. I'll just say there had to be several people thanking God that she wasn't theirs. We will keep her but God knows how to keep you humble. During the cantata (yes during) she walked up and handed me the picture she had colored and kinda hung out up there. Finally Jordan's Mommy sent him up there with the bribe of getting to hold one of his babies. It worked!! We have proof (in the web album) of David telling her what was expected of her behavior. I took the picture because I wanted the back of her hair. Oh me! The cantata was a real joy to prepare and sing. It helped me feel like I had really celebrated what my Saviour has done for me. Michelle, our Pastor's wife, was very helpful, complimentary and professional. You could tell she was a natural once her arms lifted in time with the music. We are blessed to have her and Pastor Mike.
Easter 2008

We had dinner at Philip and Rachels house along with another family from their church. Delicious, fun and special. The teenagers hid the eggs for the Daddys while they set at the table and kept the conversation going. We stayed all afternoon.

Thanks for coming and helping make it all be successful. I love having a house full of people. I guess that just feels normal to me! I'm glad you enjoyed your cantata this year.

Your family looked so nice yesterday in the greens. As for the bribe a baby will work every time! Ha ha. Glad you all had a good time with family.

How fun to "recap" your Easter weekend...Sounds like everyone had a fun time. Your kids looked adorable! Those were some pretty COOL Easter eggs they created, too! (We are coloring eggs tonight! I guess we are extending Easter weekend...)The contata was lovely...I really enjoyed participating in it, too! Mrs. Michelle did a great job in leading us! Hope that you are having a good day...

Oh no! I bet you were just mortified! As for the adult you placed in charge of her- I would kill them for letting her escape!

Sounds like a wonderful Easter. That is just too funny what your child did! Perhaps a nursery would be helpful at your church. They are so nice and they prevent small children from roaming around unattended.

Go easy on her. Remember, these situations occur because adults allow the opportunity for them to occur. Perhaps there was lack of adult supervision here.

Hello again, Anonymous.

Hi Martha! I've been an occasional lurker from Angie Davis' blog but thought I'd "de-lurk" to say that my husband is related to Randy and Kathy Ames. Kathy is his cousin -- small world!

Also, anonymous seems to have the diagnosis of multiple personality disorder!! I can't imagine coming back every half hour to answer my last comment.

Your kids looked so adorable in their Easter outfits! I love all the curls. Thanks for the comment on my blog - I left you a message there as well. Have a wonderful day and hopefully your "friend" is finished leaving comments on this post.

Everyone looked so good in their green Easter outfits! The egg coloring looked like fun too. Very creative!

As for Anonymous, she must not have children! Her last post is pretty laughable. Kids are going to be kids and do things that embarass us once in awhile. If they didn't they'd be pretty boring kids! Lighten up Anonymous!

Martha, I thought our kids looked close in age too but I wasn't sure. Kathy and Randy are definitely fun to be around and when you get Randy and my husband together, OH! MY! WORD! - What a hoot!!
