A beautiful sight...

Okay it is just the inside of my fridge but I just freshly cleaned it.

Now you can pick out what our family values in food. ha The top drawer just under the eggs is full of various kinds of cheeses. I know it is time to get groceries when we are out of cheese :-) I'm a little low on potatoes (bottom drawer) but do you put yours in the fridge like I do? The freezer may not look organized but it really is. The frozen rolls on the door are a Sunday staple around this house. Ignore the frozen pizza and frozen french fries please (so not healthy). I got a great deal on bread .25 cents a loaf. woohoo We always need ice cream (top shelf) in there too which makes Ashley happy.

I think I will go enjoy the inside of the fridge again and say a prayer of thanks for it's bounty.

Ah! A freshly cleaned refrigerator is a thing to be cherished! I don't get mine cleaned out too often, but I love the feeling when I do. Yours looks very organized and no, I don't keep my potatoes in the frig. Do they keep better that way?

Wow! I'm impressed. Now I need you to come clean mine...today I'm trying to dig out from the crazyness (that's not really a word I don't think, but it works here) of the last 3 weeks, well, or technically the last 6 but I'll just stop at 3 or I'll get overwhelmed! No I don't keep my potatoes in the fridge. Yes, thankfulness for the bounty is a good thing! xorachel

Storage
Potatoes should be kept in a cool, dark place
with good ventilation. The ideal storage
temperature is 45 to 50ºF. At these
temperatures, potatoes will keep for several
weeks. But don’t store potatoes in the
refrigerator! When kept below 40ºF, potatoes
develop a sweet taste, due to the conversion of
starch to sugar. This increased sugar causes
potatoes to darken when cooked. If you store
potatoes at room temperature, try to use them
within a week or so.

Interesting. I have pretty much always stored my potatoes in the fridge. It must not be too cold since they don't turn out dark or maybe that is David's secret to his dreamy mashed potatoes. I don't know of a cold dark place in my house that has ventilation. Where do you store yours? Thanks for the article by the way.
