We are leaving town in search of spring

We know it's coming because there are signs but we would really like to see some more evidence.

Pretty soon this bush will need trimmed from all the new growth.

This Japanese maple will have beautiful, deep red, lacy leaves but not yet.

This bush gives me hope but it isn't even mine. It belongs to my neighbor. I think I have pictures of the kids in front of it almost every year.

These pictures were taken a couple days ago and as you can see our spring is a little delayed from what I'm hearing are in other parts of the country. That is why we are heading south today! Shelley, don't hate me :-) I'll bring back some pics to verify whether or not we found spring.

My parents aren't the only ones setting up house in a new place. Today I realized that we have a couple of doves making their home in the corner of the fence.

Sarah Brooke's Spring concert

I spy Sarah Brooke, can you?

Last evening we went to Weston for the First grade Art show and Spring concert. She was very excited to show us her art. She loves doing anything creative and is always begging for more paper. Below is a tree made from a brown paper sack.

We found her bear all dressed up in wall paper clothes.

Our lives are richer because of Sarah Brooke.

I survived....

English 101 and the 3 reports that were required. The last report was worth 25% of my grade so it was a little intimidating. The topic was on the environment.

I felt completely overwhelmed because this topic can splinter a 1000 ways. All I really needed was 1000 words. I prayed, researched, wrote and prayed some more. I submitted the paper on the final day and waited and waited for a grade. Apparently the teacher was on spring break because I waited all week :-( Then I got the grade...95 out of a possible 100. Now that is fun! I messed up in stupid little ways having to do with the MLA writing style. Overall the teacher felt like it was well written. Miracles come in all sizes and I'm glad one was given to me. I finished the class making an A.

Now it's the start of yet another class. I was telling David that it takes me about 4 wks. to settle into a class and then we only have 4 wks left to "enjoy" the ride. Thanks for riding along with me.

I just might be a traitor...

Have you ever spent 379.34 at CVS? Well, I did last year. That sounds like alot of money but the value of what I got would have been out of pocket was 1,325.94. This translates as me "working" the deal; stacking coupons and taking advantage of Extra Care Bucks. It has been a fun challenge for me to see how much I could get for just a little bit of money. Unfortunatly the CVS coupons have not been as frequent lately which doesn't make the deals quite as sweet and it seems like they are always out of the sale items. I have been thinking alot about learning how the deals work at Walgreens.

I went last evening and came home with the items in pic above for a total of $1.01. I was also given a register reward for $1 to spend next time. Now that's more like how it used to be at CVS. The cool thing was their sale items were in stock too.

This makes me smile...

This picture is very much a reflection of what my folks are like. They enjoy life and they want or need to know exactly how many more hrs. the day holds. So nothing doing but they went to the dollar store to resolve the issue of never knowing what time it is out on the property. Here's the pic for you to enjoy.

Okay it is just the inside of my fridge but I just freshly cleaned it.

Now you can pick out what our family values in food. ha The top drawer just under the eggs is full of various kinds of cheeses. I know it is time to get groceries when we are out of cheese :-) I'm a little low on potatoes (bottom drawer) but do you put yours in the fridge like I do? The freezer may not look organized but it really is. The frozen rolls on the door are a Sunday staple around this house. Ignore the frozen pizza and frozen french fries please (so not healthy). I got a great deal on bread .25 cents a loaf. woohoo We always need ice cream (top shelf) in there too which makes Ashley happy.

I think I will go enjoy the inside of the fridge again and say a prayer of thanks for it's bounty.
