What makes you happy?

The other day when Cameron asked me if I knew what made him happy it got me to thinking. He said opening the cabinet and seeing it full of clean cups to pick from made him happy.

I would have to say Happiness for David is having ironed shirts to pick from in his closet. Happiness for the girls is having all the toys out and setting up the next pretend play area. Happiness for me is needing an ingredient that I thought I had for supper and finally finding it in the back of the cupboard. What makes you happy?

I could say all the wonderful things like, spending time with family and all that, but just a purely selfish "what makes me happy?"....Pedicure and lunch out with a friend!

Being loved by God and by my WONDERFUL Man and kiddos...like you mentioned finding that ingredient that I thought I didn't have (since that means I don't have to walk a mile to my groc. store and a mile back =) when my girls finish school each day, and when my new Taste of Home mag. comes in safely. =D

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog, and for your prayers!! I'll try to post a pic of my new shoes from Phillip later. Yes, I DO want to see you while I'm in the States!

Wow! All the above makes me happy...a clean house, a pedicure and lunch with a friend, a new Taste of Home magazine(including a successful new recipe), hugs and love from my family, God's approval on my life....maybe I could add crawling into fresh, crisp sheets that smell of Downy! ha!

Martha,
Your blog puts my mind to thinking.. I DIDO what everyone has said, but I'll add a big smile comes to my face when Spring finally comes- the air is so clean and crisp and I get my new Paula Dean magazine and sit in the sun. I love that wonderful feeling of cool but warmness to my face. Of course I've got my Sweet Tea close by.
Have a wonderful evening!!!

Wow you got me to thinking! Alot of things come to mind. Here are a few. A totally clean house and and being able to spend the whole day with my family dong nothing. Digging my toes into the fresh spring dirt while I plant flowers or sitting a beach by myself watching the sunrise. A large glass of southern sweet tea!!! Is that enough? LOL

~Quiet devotions with just the Lord and me. ("Quiet" is not very common with three little boys.)
~An undisturbed evening with only hubby and munchkins.
~ A snack and a bunch of my friends' new posts to read. :-)
~ Being close to a waterfall.
~ Crawling into my freshly washed sheets every Saturday night.

Hmmm, I'm easily pleased. Things like the first cup of coffee and the bottom of an empty laundry hamper make me smile. A clean house is probably tops for me, though.

What an adorable post. Martha, I love it!!!! Cameron, I agree about the cabinet full of clean cups. It doesn't take much to make me happy...but I really do enjoy a good decorating magazine, and time to read it in peace and quiet...all with a glass of diet Dr. Pepper, crunchy ice and a huge bowl of popcorn, I might add!! Have a fun day. It's great to hear from you again!!!! xo Rachel

It doesn't take much to make me happy, either... but I love days when my children do their chores and schoolwork cheerfully and get through early enough in the day to do something fun.

What makes me happy - a day without any schedules and a good book to read, - warm spring afternoons and early fall, - most of all right now, good health....bette

A cold can or 2 liter of coke zero pretty much makes me happy. Best of all though, Blake just recently started saying "I love you" and that always makes me happy!
